4. Revolutionizing Coffee Markets: Connecting Farmers and Consumers via Web3, Metaverse, and Blockchain
For too long, the immense economic benefits of the global coffee trade have largely bypassed the very farmers who cultivate this vital crop. Despite coffee’s potential to drive economic development and improve farmer well-being, this hasn’t been the reality for many. Cyesha Coffee Ltd. is changing that. We’re building an advanced multi-platform ecosystem designed to directly link coffee farmers with global consumers, leveraging the power of Web3, the Metaverse, and blockchain technology. Our goal is to empower farmers, eliminate intermediaries (Middlemen), and ensure they receive fair compensation for their hard work.
How Cyesha Coffee Aim to Empower Farmers?
Our innovative approach will provide farmers with direct access to new opportunities and transparent processes:
- Virtual Opportunities in the Metaverse: We’re creating unique ways for farmers to sell virtual coffee products and offer immersive experiences within the Metaverse. This will open up entirely new revenue streams for them.
- Fractional Ownership of Coffee Assets: Through blockchain-based tokens, we’re making it possible for individuals to have fractional ownership of coffee assets, like farms or processing equipment. This makes investment more accessible and equitable, allowing more people to participate in the success of the coffee industry.
Our Innovative Approach:
Cyesha Coffee Ltd will empower farmers by providing them with access to the Cyesha Coffee application. In collaboration with Rwandan land authorities, we opt to develop a system where farmers who choose to use our technology will register their Unique Plot Identifiers (UPIs) for their coffee plantations, along with their National ID and name, within the Cyesha Coffee application.
Once registered, satellite technology will continuously monitor all activities within these coffee plantations. Each plantation will have its unique UPI. These satellite data, detailing the agricultural practices, will be immediately recorded onto the Cyesha Coffee Ltd blockchain. These data will then be automatically converted into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The value of these NFTs will be determined by predetermined standards for high-quality agricultural coffee. At this crucial stage, potential buyers and supporters can directly engage with farmers by purchasing these NFTs. Buyers and supporters will have two clear options:
- Support Farmers Directly: Purchase NFTs purely as a way to provide financial backing and support to the coffee farmers.
- Future Coffee Purchase Contract: Buy NFTs that serve as a smart contract for a future purchase of the actual coffee.
Advanced smart contracts will facilitate both these options, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
More, importantly real-time, transparent data will allow buyers to view and immediately purchase coffee directly from these farmers. Here is how Web3, the Metaverse, and blockchain will offer tangible benefits across Cyesha Coffee’s operations, coffee farmers, Coffee Consumers and the broader coffee sector:
- Supply Chain Transparency: tracking coffee beans from the farm all the way to the consumer.
- Traceability: Consumer will get verifiable information about the origin and journey of their coffee.
- Fair Trade and Farmer Empowerment: This will directly support farmers and ensure fair compensation by minimizing or eradicating exploitative middlemen.
- Community Building: This will engage customers and build a loyal community around the Cyesha Coffee brand.
- Unique Product Offerings: We will create digital assets (like NFTs) linked to physical coffee.
- Loyalty Programs: We will implement token-based loyalty rewards for our customers.
From Cherry to Cup: A Transparent Journey:
Farmers utilizing the Cyesha Coffee application will bring their coffee cherries to Cyesha Coffee washing stations. We will support these farmers in processing their coffee, preparing it for market. All these processing activities will also be recorded on the blockchain, providing full transparency to any potential buyers.
When a buyer decides to purchase coffee, they will place an order through the Cyesha Coffee Ltd application. The buyer will then deposit funds into their non-custodial Cyesha Coffee Ltd application Web3 Wallet. These funds will be automatically locked based on the system estimated time range to deliver coffee to the buyer.
Once a predetermined amount of coffee from specific farmers is ready for shipping, Cyesha Coffee Ltd will facilitate the delivery. We will ethically facilitate the shipping of the coffee to the buyer, ensuring a seamless and transparent transaction from farm to consumer. Each coffee package will feature unique QR codes. Buyers will scan these codes with their phones or any other dedicated devices for large amount of coffee delivered. When the scanned code matches the data recorded on the blockchain, this will trigger the automatic deduction of the agreed money from the buyer’s wallet and be transferred to the noncustodial farmers’ Web3 wallets. Thus, marking the completion of transaction.
Key Takeaways
- Agreement Formalization: The buyer’s deposit of funds will formalize the agreement to the terms and conditions between Cyesha Coffee Ltd. and the user. A key term of this agreement pertains to coffee delivery timelines.
- Automated Estimate of time of delivery & Fund Locking: Our automated system will calculate the distance in kilometers between Cyesha Coffee Ltd. and the buyer’s specified location. Based on this data, the system will provide an estimated delivery timeframe (ranging from hours, days, weeks, to months). The estimation of this time range will automatically lead to locking the money deposited in the buyer’s non-custodial Cyesha Coffee application Web3 Wallet. Cyesha Coffee Ltd. Will be committed to adhering to this agreed-upon schedule through reliable and efficient processes.
- Unwavering Transparency and Security: Because all data will be recorded on the blockchain, no single person will alter these records. All activities, from farm to buyer, will be automatically managed and secured by advanced smart contracts.
- Fair Compensation: Cyesha Coffee Ltd. will only deduct a pre-agreed service fee and applicable taxes. These fees will also be automatically calculated and paid. The agreed-upon payment will then be transferred directly from the buyer’s wallet to the farmers’ Web3 wallets.
- Beyond connecting coffee farmers with buyers, our system will automatically monitor coffee farm activities and provides data (like fertilizer needs) to help them increase productivity.
